The Healing Home Retreat, we are committed to making a positive impact in the lives of bereaved parents and families through our transformative outreach programs and rejuvenating retreats.
Our journey began with the heartfelt experience of the Del Hierro family. Witnessing the profound transformation in Valerie upon her return from one of our weekend retreats, they were inspired to support our cause in memory of their beloved son. Through their generous donation, the Del Hierro family played a pivotal role in enabling us to host an impactful April retreat in 2023, touching the lives of many more families in need.
At The Healing Home Retreat, we understand the profound impact of loss and the importance of finding solace, support, and healing. Our retreats offer a nurturing environment where individuals can find comfort, connection, and hope as they navigate their grief journey.
Join us as we continue our mission to provide healing, support, and community to bereaved parents and families. Together, we can make a difference and honor the memory of our loved ones in meaningful ways.

"This past weekend, I had the honor of attending The Healing Home Retreat. What amazing, beautiful, and much needed work these two passionate and courageous women (Babs and Gabriela) are doing for other mama’s and for themselves as well. THANK YOU SO MUCH, from the bottom of my heart. When I arrived on Friday, I walked through the door with tears streaming down my face, feeling very anxious and heavy, not knowing what to expect. I was instantly greeted by Babs and Gabriela with open arms and the tightest hugs… I knew I was in the right place and Jacob was with me. ❤️ They walked me to my room, where I was welcomed with a name hanger on the doorknob which read, “Valerie- mama to Jacob.” There were flowers on the nightstand with Jacob’s name, a picture of Jacob, and a candle beside his picture. On the bed was a beautifully handmade tote bag with personal items in it. There was also a treat box filled with lots of goodies, placed on the corner of the bed as well. JACOB was everywhere! I know he was with me, I felt him. I won’t get into all the perfect.. so perfect details of the retreat but I just wanted to share some of them……….. Our first dinner together, the table was set so nice, peacefully and intimate and everything was so perfect. There was a picture of Jacob at my place sitting along with a gorgeous handmade clay, male Angel, with Jacobs name on it. Each mama had this. Immediately the tears fell. Each meal we sat with our babies, with each mama having a turn with eating with each other’s children. It was precious and heartbreaking at the time. Jake’s picture was everywhere! All the other mama’s children were too. They made sure of it! All the special details that went into making us broken-hearted mothers feel so loved, supported, hopeful, and not alone was so wonderful. We talked (a lot) we cried (a lot), we laughed and smiled. It was the perfect amount of togetherness that we all needed. The stories and memories shared of our precious children was amazing. So much love, talent, beautiful, bright, smart, adventurous, kind hearted, I could go on and on and on…… precious lives lost way too soon. Our babies! It was so nice and natural being able to talk about our children without any uncomfortableness or awkward moments. I listened as these women shared their heartache and fears and hopes. Thank you Babette, Gabriela, Jody, Mandy, and Doona for trusting me and allowing me to get to know your beautiful children and for sharing your story and your journey. We were all safe and supported and with each other who knew what the other mama’s were going through. We are not alone and we are not crazy. We’re in this together. We kept reminding ourselves of this- WE ARE IN THIS TOGETHER. There were many moments of random tears and there were no questions asked because we all knew WHY. We just loved each other and leaned on one another. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ My Jakey baby- I hope you’re proud of me.. I’m pretty proud of myself too. I spent the weekend talking about YOU. Missing you, loving you, remembering YOU. The good, the bad, the ugly and THE BEST! I know you were there, right by my side, every step of the way. ❤️❤️ We talked about how you, Cody, Yaz, Jessica, Brianna, and Adrian were all hanging out together as well, a bunch of similar personalities. That gave us all a chuckle and of course, a smile. ☺️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ I’ll miss you forever, until I take my last breath here on Earth…. Save a place for me, my beautiful brown eyed boy. ❤️- Mama
We would like to take this time to thank our amazing supporters. Without them we would not have been able to live our dream. We had our first retreat in 2020 during the COVID Pandemic, not being able to have our yearly fundraising event to raise money for the retreat. An amazing Woman and Friend gave us a gift and to honor her son, we were able to hold our first retreat in October 2020. She is the reason The Healing Home Retreat is here today.
Thank you Marianne for your gift of love and believing in us, we love you so much.

Taylor attended our October 2021 retreat. She wanted to make sure that other Moms would be able to experience what she did. In honor of her son Shane and the Shane Thurston Foundation she sponsored a retreat for 2022. This was huge for us because that has enabled us to have for the first time two retreats in 2022. We are forever grateful for your gift and support in our Mission for helping other mothers heal through this journey. We Love you so much.
